We estimate there are approximately 125 school social workers in Arizona. School social workers in Arizona are not certified by the Department of Education. Some districts require State licensure as a clinical social worker, but many do not. (For information about State licensure, please visit the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners web site.)

The following are school districts in Arizona that the School Social Work Association of Arizona is aware of that employ social workers. This list, however, is certainly not complete: Amphitheater Public Schools, Cartwright School District, Gilbert School District, Indian Oasis #40, Kyrene School District, Paradise Valley Unified School District, Parker Unified School District, Phoenix Elementary and High School Districts, Tanque Verde Unified School District, Tucson Unified School District and the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind.
